REAL NAME: Charles Francis Xavier

POWERS: Xavier is one of the world's most powerful telepaths, and his abilities include being able to read the thoughts of others, having the option to impose his will upon someone else's mind, and even erase one's memory.

It is Professor X that is the creator of the dream that the X-Men fight for. He formed the X-Men to promote his dream of peaceful co-existance between mutants and the rest of humanity. As well as having held the titles of founder to the X-Men, the New Mutants, and Generation X, Professor X has also served as leader to both X-Men and New Mutants. In a confrontation with Magneto, Charles was forced to wipe his mind. At that moment, an evil passed from Eric to Charles, an evil which later created Onslaught, a being of imense power that not only possessed the abilities of the professor and Magneto, but came very close to destroying the world. The X-Men were able to stop the creature, but when the world saw what they thought were the deaths of their heroes at the hands of a maniacal mutant, Xavier was blamed and taken into custody. After that, he was held prisoner by Bastion and Operation: Zero Tolerance, until he was rescued by the Brotherhood. Xavier has now returned to his students, the X-Men, in his mansion in Westchester.
