Gambit is a man with a long and dark past, that he keeps hidden from his teammates in the X-Men. He was brought to the team by Storm, after he befriended her on the streets of cairo. However, it was not long before he gained the affections of Rogue, and the two have been on and off lovers ever since. Recently, Remy was put on trial by Magneto, and the X-Men discovered that Remy had worked for Mr Sinister, and that he had been responsible for the mutant massacre. When they escaped Magneto's citadel, Rogue abandoned Gambit in Antarctica. Recently, Gambit returned to the tea,, although it is unknown how he got back from the Antarctic.
